Ethical & Responsible AI
Promote the ethical and responsible deployment of Artificial Intelligence across the agri-food sector.
EAGLE is a European project promoting the ethical, inclusive and socially responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in agriculture and food production — supporting decent work, workers’ rights and stronger social dialogue.
EAGLE brings together people, knowledge and social dialogue to help shape an ethical, transparent and inclusive approach to Artificial Intelligence in Europe’s agri-food sector.
Promote the ethical and responsible deployment of Artificial Intelligence across the agri-food sector.
Strengthen dialogue and cooperation between workers, employers and policymakers throughout the digital transition.
Safeguard workers’ rights and promote decent working conditions as digital technologies transform the sector.
Address digital skills gaps and support workforce inclusion so that no one is left behind by technological change.
Improve transparency, accountability and governance of AI and data-driven technologies in agri-food systems.
Collect and exchange good practices on collective bargaining, social dialogue and responsible AI governance.
Develop practical guidelines for the ethical and socially responsible implementation of Artificial Intelligence.
Foster transnational cooperation and knowledge exchange among European social partners and stakeholder organisations.
Support a fair, sustainable and inclusive digital transformation in European agriculture and food production.
EAGLE responds to the social and labour challenges created by digital transformation with a people-centred approach that connects research, social dialogue and practical action.
The agri-food sector is rapidly adopting Artificial
Intelligence, robotics and digital technologies. While
these innovations can improve productivity and
sustainability, they also create major social and
labour challenges.
Workers face risks including job displacement, digital
skills gaps, limited transparency in algorithmic systems,
unclear data ownership and unequal access to the benefits
of technological innovation.
Social dialogue mechanisms are not always fully prepared
to address the impact of AI on working conditions,
workers’ rights and inclusion across agriculture and
food production.
EAGLE introduces a people-centred and socially responsible
approach to AI governance in the agri-food sector.
The project combines research, policy analysis and social
dialogue to create practical solutions that place workers,
ethics and inclusion at the heart of digital transformation.
By bringing together trade unions, employers’ organisations,
research institutions and European social partners, EAGLE
promotes collaborative governance and develops practical
tools for responsible AI adoption.
EAGLE will contribute to a fairer and more inclusive
digital transition across Europe’s agri-food sector.
The project will strengthen cooperation between social
partners, improve awareness of AI-related challenges and
support the development of ethical and transparent
governance models.
Through research findings, workshops, policy recommendations
and practical guidelines, EAGLE will empower workers and
organisations to actively shape the future of AI in
agriculture and food production.
EAGLE brings together trade unions, employers’ organisations, research bodies and European social partners to support a fair and people-centred approach to Artificial Intelligence in agri-food.

EAGLE’s activities move from project coordination and research to transnational validation, communication and the development of practical guidance for ethical Artificial Intelligence.
Ensures effective project governance, administrative and financial coordination, risk monitoring, internal communication and continuous assessment of project quality.
Maps EU initiatives and policy frameworks, examines social-dialogue and collective-bargaining practices and establishes a structured database of relevant experiences.
Organises transnational thematic workshops where partners and experts discuss workplace AI and sector-wide governance challenges, validate findings and consolidate project results.
Supports project communication, stakeholder engagement and sustainability while transforming project evidence into the EAGLE Decalogue and presenting the results at the final conference.
Public deliverables will become accessible here as they are completed and published. Sensitive administrative and internal assessment documents are identified but are not publicly downloadable.
